As one of countries most affected by unexploded ordnance (UXO) left over from the war, Vietnam has paid special attention to the clearance of bombs and mines in order to free land to serve socio-economic development and at the same time promote activities to support and help UXO victims.

The central province of Quang Tri has the highest rate of mine and bomb pollution in Vietnam with 81% of the province’s total land area littered with dangerous ordnance of this kind.

A regional workshop opened in Hanoi on March 29 to share regional experience and global progress in overcoming the consequence of bombs and mines for peace and sustainable development.
