Import-export activities at Lao Bao and La Lay international border gates in the central province of Quang Tri have experienced a sharp rise in the early days of the Lunar New Year, indicating a positive economic outlook for 2025.

The Customs Department of the central province of Quang Tri said on March 11 that they had coordinated with the provincial police and border guard to break up a drug trafficking ring from Laos to Vietnam.

Several border gates between Vietnam and Laos, such as Lao Bao, La Lay and Nam Can, returned to normal operations on May 9.
