Vietnam raked in US$515 million from exporting shrimp products to Japan in the first nine months of 2022, posting a year-on-year increase of 24%, according to the Vietnam Association of Seafood Exporters and Producers (VASEP).
There is plenty of room for Vietnam’s agricultural, aquatic and foodstuff products to gain a bigger market share in Japan as the country has high demand for those imported, according to the Vietnamese Trade Office in Japan.
More Japanese consumers prefer Vietnamese cashew nuts, reflected through an expansion of the market share of the product in the country’s total import value.
