The Directorate of Fisheries (DoF) is striving to complete institutions for sustainable and responsible fishery management in the fourth quarter of 2021, and quickly address the European Commission (EC)’s recommendations related to illegal, unreported and unregulated (IUU) fishing.

Vietnam’s Border Guard force has undertaken strong measures to combat Illegal, Unreported and Unregulated (IUU) fishing and prevent Vietnamese fishing boats from encroaching foreign waters over the last four years.

Coastal cities and provinces have been requested to review, amend and supplement their plans on implementing measures against illegal, unreported and unregulated (IUU) fishing in line with their specific situation, towards the goal of ending violations of foreign waters by fishermen late this year.
