VOV.VN - The Consular Department under the Ministry of Foreign Affairs held a ceremony on June 19 to recognise Bui Quang Minh, a famous businessman in the Vietnamese startup community, as Honorary Consul of Slovenia in Ho Chi Minh City.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MoFA) has instructed its Consular Department to contact the Philippine Embassy in Vietnam and ask for support in assisting the Vietnamese citizens among the over 1,000 forced labourers recently rescued in Pampanga province of the archipelago nation.

A department head at the Government Office was arrested on September 20 on the charge of receiving bribe in connection with the case at the Consular Department under the Foreign Ministry.

VOV.VN - The Central Steering Committee for Corruption and Negative Phenomena Prevention and Control has requested relevant agencies remove obstacles and fully handle complicated corruption cases which are of public concern this year.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs said on January 29 that it had issued a decision to suspend work of four officials of its Consular Department to serve the investigation into a case of taking bribes while licensing the firms that conducted repatriation flights for Vietnamese people.
