VOV.VN - Prime Minister Le Minh Hung has asked the agriculture sector to transform its production model toward modern, green and sustainable practices, describing it as a key condition to maintain competitiveness in a changing global environment.

The Australian Government will permit up to 1,000 Vietnamese workers to be employed in its agricultural sector at any given time, as part of the labour mobility programme between the two countries.

Vietnam's agricultural sector has set a growth target between 3.2-4% in 2024, according to the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development (MARD), with total export turnover of some US$54-55 billion.

The agriculture sector and traders have expressed their high optimism about rice exports this year given high prices and stable markets, helping the grain remain a big foreign currency earner.
