While many products exported to the UK enjoyed strong increases thanks to the UK-Vietnam Free Trade Agreement (UKVFTA), Vietnam’s timber industry is facing difficulties in expanding in this market, requiring manufacturers and exporters to change their business strategies.
VOV.VN - Despite the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic, the timber industry is likely to rake in US$15.6 billion from exports this year, enjoying an export surplus of US$12.6 billion, the Vietnam Administration of Forestry (VNFOREST) revealed at a review meeting on December 17.
Vietnam should develop a generation of young entrepreneurs in the timber industry, and consider it a sector for startups, said President of the Handicraft and Wood Industry Association (HAWA) of HCM City Nguyen Quoc Khanh.
