With 77% responding that sustainability is important in their travel choices for 2025, travellers from Vietnam earned a spot as one of Asia’s top five most sustainability-conscious, according to Agoda’s 2025 Sustainable Travel Survey.

With more than 5,000 accommodation establishments receiving Travel Sustainable badge of Booking.com, Vietnam is among the top five countries in Asia-Pacific region with the highest number of the providers of this kind of service recognised for their efforts to operate more sustainably.

VOV.VN - Commissioned by leading online travel company Booking.com, the Travel Confidence Index released on June 22 shows that Vietnam has emerged as the second most confident in the Asia-Pacific region for traveling, with 85% of local travelers stating they intend to travel in the next 12 months.

Overtourism, deforestation for tourism and the use of single-use plastic products are top concerns for the tourism sector in Vietnam and many other countries, according to the Sustainable Travel Trends Survey launched by Agoda on the occasion of the World Environment Day 2021 (June 5).

A Euromonitor International report ranked Vietnam as 96th of 99 countries for sustainable tourism.
