VOV.VN - Retail fuel prices in Vietnam moved in mixed directions from 10 p.m. on March 12 after the latest adjustment by the Ministry of Industry and Trade and the Ministry of Finance.

Deputy Prime Minister Ho Duc Phoc highlighted the need for truly effective, proactive and specific price management in 2025 while chairing a meeting of the Steering Committee for Price Management on February 6.

Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh has asked price management to be enhanced in the coming time, under an official dispatch recently sent to ministers, heads of ministerial-level agencies, and the chairpersons of the Peoples’ Committees of the provinces and centrally-run cities.

The Price Management Steering Committee, led by Deputy Prime Minister Le Minh Khai, convened in Hanoi on June 12 to assess inflation control efforts in the first half of 2024 and directions for the remainder of the year, aiming to achieve inflation control as targeted by the National Assembly.

The Ministry of Finance (MoF) said on June 5 that in the first five months of 2024, domestic market prices were basically stable, with market developments in line with the price management scenario set by the Prime Minister’s Steering Committee for Price Management.

To ensure the supply of goods and stabilisation of the domestic market by the end of 2023 and Lunar New Year 2024, the Ministry of Industry and Trade (MoIT) will coordinate with large distributors to regulate the supply of goods and support the consumption of agricultural products, according to Le Viet Nga, MoIT’s deputy director of the Domestic Market Department.

Vietnam’s consumer price index (CPI) is projected to grow between 3.2% and 3.6% this year, the Ministry of Finance said at a meeting of the Steering Committee on Price Management in Hanoi on October 11.

As inflation is reported to be under control, there is room to adjust prices of State–managed goods and services in the remaining months of this year.

VOV.VN - Deputy Prime Minister Le Minh Khai, head of the Steering Committee for Price Management, has requested relevant ministries and sectors to ensure the balance of supply and demand, stabilise the market, and prevent goods shortages which may cause a sudden price hike during the upcoming Lunar New Year (Tet) holiday.

VOV.VN - Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh sent a dispatch to various ministers, heads of ministry-level agencies, and chairmen of the People’s Committees of centrally-run provinces and cities on July 31, asking for stricter management of prices of essential goods and services.
