VOV.VN - Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh emphasized the diplomatic sector's role in achieving at least 8% growth in gross domestic product (GDP) in 2025 at Ministry of Foreign Affairs review conference on January 6 in Hanoi which focused on evaluating the ministry's performance in 2024 and setting key tasks for 2025.
The diplomatic sector should detect opportunities and challenges in a timely manner, contributing to the successful implementation of the country’s 100-year strategic goals, Party General Secretary and State President To Lam said at a working session with the Party Civil Affairs Committee of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs on August 29.

Foreign Minister Bui Thanh Son has affirmed the diplomatic sector, under the leadership of the Party, is determined to build a modern, comprehensive and strong diplomacy, contributing to successfully completing the resolution and foreign policy set at the 13th National Party Congress.
The diplomatic sector will continue improving public consular services, both at home and abroad, to contribute to the common efforts in post-pandemic recovery and development, an official has said.
The pioneering role of the diplomatic sector will be carried forward in building and maintaining an environment of peace and stability, mobilising external resources to serve the national development and raising the country’s position and reputation in the international arena, Minister of Foreign Affairs Bui Thanh Son has said.
The focal task of the diplomatic sector is to serve sustainable and self-reliant national development and to guarantee national interests at the highest possible level, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh told the sector’s teleconference on January 10.
Under the Party’s leadership and the State’s management, forces in charge of foreign affairs have fulfilled their important tasks of contributing to maintaining a peaceful and stable environment at home and raising the country’s position in the international arena, a senior Party official has said.
