VOV.VN - After 40 years of pursuing Doi Moi (Renewal) process, Vietnam now has the position and capacity in place to enter a new era of development.

Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh on February 2 affirmed that Vietnam will continue to share its experience gained from 40 years of Doi moi (Renewal) and economic integration with Cuba, while hosting Bruno Rodríguez Parrilla, Politburo member and Minister of Foreign Affairs of Cuba.

After 40 years of renewal, vivid practical evidence has enabled the Party to affirm the private sector as one of the most important driving forces of the national economy and a pioneering force in the development of science, technology and innovation.

Throughout the Doi moi (renewal) and integration process, Vietnam’s independent and flexible foreign policy has helped the country safeguard its sovereignty, expand international relations and gradually assert an increasingly clear role on the regional and global arenas.

The new leadership elected at the 14th National Congress of the Communist Party of Vietnam (CPV) reflects continuity, renewal and steadfastness, according to Professor Xu Liping, Director of the Centre for Southeast Asian Studies at the Chinese Academy of Social Science (CASS).

After four decades of implementing the Doi moi (Renewal) process from 1986 to 2026, Vietnam has recorded proud and far-reaching achievements that have laid an important foundation for its aspiration to become a high-income developed country by 2045, experts have said.

Marcelo Rodriguez, head of the Commission for Foreign Affairs of the Communist Party of Argentina Central Committee, highlighted the Communist Party of Vietnam (CPV)’s steadfast commitment to the country’s “Doi moi” (renewal) and development process.

The draft documents submitted to upcoming 14th National Party Congress carry profound significance, embodying the Party's forward-looking strategic vision and agile grasp of global development trends, while igniting nationwide aspirations for progress, and forging broad societal consensus.

Vietnam has recorded outstanding achievements across all fields, from socio-economic development to culture, over the past five years since the 13th National Congress of the Communist Party of Vietnam, demonstrating the soundness and relevance of the Doi moi (Renewal) policy.
