VOV.VN - The Hanoi People’s Court on July 11 handed down a total of 34 years in prison to three former top officials of Vinh Phuc province for accepting bribes in one of Vietnam’s most high-profile corruption scandals involving Phuc Son Group.

Phuc Son Group on July 3 made an additional payment of VND768 billion (approximately US$29.3 million) to remedy damages in the criminal case involving its Chairman Nguyen Van Hau.

Prosecutors on June 27 proposed a 30-year prison term for Chairman and CEO of Phuc Son Group JSC Nguyen Van Hau at the high-profile trial of 41 defendants involved in the corruption case related to the firm.

At the first-instance trial for individuals involved in the high-profile corruption case at Phuc Son Group JSC on June 24, Nguyen Van Hau, the firm’s chairman, admitted to unlawfully gaining VND1.16 trillion (US$44.37 million), and confirmed his willingness to use all of his personal assets to fix the consequences.

The People’s Court of Hanoi on June 24 opened the first-instance trial of Hoang Thi Thuy Lan, former Secretary of the Party Committee of Vinh Phuc province, along with 40 other defendants involved in the high-profile corruption case at Phuc Son Group JSC.

VOV.VN - The Investigation Police Agency of the Ministry of Public Security has completed its investigation and proposed prosecuting 41 defendants, including five former provincial Party Secretaries in a case related to Phuc Son Group JSC.
