The Vietnamese Embassy in Cuba and Nicaragua said on February 10 that it has been taking citizen protection measures for three Vietnamese survivors of a boat sinking in Nicaragua according to guidelines from the Vietnamese Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

Leaders of Brunei, Singapore, the Republic of Korea (RoK), Australia, Belarus, Bangladesh, Luxembourg, Nicaragua, ASEAN and the United Nations Food and Agriculture Organisation (FAO) sent messages and letters of congratulations to Vo Van Thuong on his election as President of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam by the 15th National Assembly.

A Communist Party of Vietnam (CPV) delegation led by Tran Duc Thang, Deputy Chairman of the Party Central Committee’s Inspection Commission, visited Nicaragua from September 25 – 28 at the invitation of the Sandinista National Liberation Front (FSLN).
