Cuban leader thanks Vietnam and international friends for support

VOV.VN - First Secretary of the Communist Party of Cuba (PCC) Central Committee and President of Cuba Miguel Díaz-Canel Bermudez has expressed his sincere gratitude to Vietnam and other international friends for their continued support for the Caribbean nation during challenging times.

The top Cuban leader wrote on his Twitter account that the solidarity between Cuba and others has been enhanced during these difficult times, going on to state his gratitude to governments and peoples that have offered a helping hand to his nation.

He went on to share an article published by Granma daily newspaper, the official mouthpiece of the PCC, which highlights assistance given to Cuba over recent days.

The newspaper cited an announcement made by Vietnamese Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh after presenting 12,000 tonnes of rice to Cuba, in which he said that the nation will continue to stand side by side with the Caribbean country.

Other nations, including Bolivia, Mexico, Nicaragua, and Russia along with numerous organisations, have also provided aid to Cuba, according to Granma.
