Efforts to strengthen economic, trade and tourism cooperation between Vietnam and Laos were highlighted at a forum on investment, trade and tourism cooperation to promote East–West Economic Corridor (EWEC) connectivity, held on April 3 in Champasak province, southern Laos.
The Lao Bao Special Economic–Trade Zone in the central province of Quang Tri holds a strategically important position on the East–West Economic Corridor, serving as a key trade gateway linking Vietnam with Laos, Thailand and other countries in the Greater Mekong Subregion.
The Ministry of Transport has submitted to the Prime Minister a proposal on investment policy for a project on developing inland waterway and logistics corridors in southern Vietnam.
