Young Vietnamese golfer claims title at Mazda US College Prep Jr. Golf Championship
VOV.VN - Vietnamese golfer Do Duc Khang triumphed in the Middle School Boys division (ages 10-13) at the Mazda US College Prep Jr. Golf Championship 2025, held recently at Siam Country Club Rolling Hills in Thailand.

Despite a less-than-ideal final round, the 12-year-old from Vung Tau sealed victory with an overall even-par score after 54 holes, finishing five strokes clear of his nearest rivals. The win marked his first international title and underscored the rapid rise of the young talent.
Khang had previously impressed with a third-place finish in the Boys’ U13 division at the Vietnam Junior Open. His triumph at the VJD Leg 5-Dalat Amateur Open also earned him a spot on the World Amateur Golf Ranking (WAGR).
Other Vietnamese juniors also shone at the event, with Nguyen Trong Hoang and Anna Le both securing top-10 finishes in the High School Boys and High School Girls divisions. The pair are set to return to Thailand in December for the 33rd SEA Games.
The Mazda U.S. College Prep Jr. Golf Championship is considered an elite pathway for Asia’s best young golfers to compete in top-tier U.S. junior and amateur events. Winners gain access to prestigious tournaments, including the Junior World Cup Invitational in Florida on January 3-4, 2026.
Although the final round did not go as well as expected, the Vung Tau-born golfer’s overall even-par performance after 54 holes was still enough to secure first place, finishing five strokes ahead of his rivals.
This marked the first international victory of Khang’s career, while also affirming the remarkable growth of this young talent.
Earlier, Khang made his mark by finishing third in the Boys’ U13 division at the Vietnam Junior Open. Notably, his victory at the VJD Leg 5 – Dalat Amateur Open secured him a spot on the World Amateur Golf Ranking (WAGR).
In addition, other local golfers also delivered impressive performances at the tournament. Nguyen Trong Hoang and Anna Le both finished in the top 10 in High School Boys and High School Girls divisions, respectively. The two golfers will return to Thailand in December to compete in SEA Games 33.
