The Vietnamese forward shared the title with Bergson da Silva of Johor Darul Ta’zim FC, while Buriram United’s Guilherme Bissoli finished just behind with six goals.

The second leg of the Shopee Cup 2025/26 final ended with a 2-1 victory for Buriram United FC over Selangor FC, helping the Thai side secure the regional title with a 3-1 aggregate win.

Although Nam Dinh FC failed to reach the final after losing to Selangor FC in the semi-finals, Xuan Son still impressed with his scoring form throughout the tournament.

After recovering from injury, the 1997-born striker quickly rediscovered his best form, scoring seven goals in the group stage, including a hat-trick against Shan United FC.

Statistics show Xuan Son registered 23 shots during the tournament, 13 of them on target, averaging one goal every 64 minutes.

The latest achievement added to the naturalisedstriker’s growing list of regional honours. Previously, he won both the Top Scorer and Best Player awards at the ASEAN Cup 2024 while playing for the Vietnamese national team.

At that tournament, he scored seven goals and provided two assists in just five matches. Despite suffering a serious injury in the second leg of the final against Thailand, he was still recognised for his outstanding performances throughout the competition.

Within less than two years, the player won the top scorer title twice at both club and national team level in Southeast Asia.

Besides Xuan Son, Nguyen Dinh Bac also finished as top scorer at the 2026 AFC U23 Asian Cup finals. The 2004-born striker scored four goals and provided two assists to claim the individual honour.
