Xuan Son tops Vietnam squad in market value, Hoang Hen seventh

VOV.VN - Naturalised striker Nguyen Xuan Son has emerged as the most valuable player in Vietnam’s national team during the March 2026 training camp, while another naturalised striker Hoang Hen is ranked seventh, according to valuations by football data website Transfermarkt.

Xuan Son, who plays for Nam Dinh FC, is valued at EUR600,000. He is followed by overseas Vietnamese defender Jason Pendant at EUR500,000. Goalkeeper Nguyen Filip and midfielder Nguyen Quang Hai shared the next spot with valuations of EUR400,000 each.

Hoang Hen, formerly known as Hendrio Araujo da Silva before naturalisation, ranks seventh with a valuation of EUR325,000.

Among domestically born players, Quang Hai is the highest-valued. The 1997-born midfielder is also valued at EUR400,000.

For the March 2026 training camp, head coach Kim Sang-sik called up two naturalised forwards, Xuan Son and Hoang Hen. The pair have played together for several years at club level in the V.League. Analysts expect their partnership to boost Vietnam’s attacking options.

Vietnam will face Bangladesh in a friendly at Hang Day Stadium on March 26 before playing Malaysia at Thien Truong Stadium on March 31 in the 2027 AFC Asian Cup qualifiers.
