Women's national football team maintain 37th position in FIFA rankings
VOV.VN - The Vietnam women’s national football team continue to assert their position as the No.1 team in Southeast Asia in the latest FIFA rankings, maintaining 37th place in the world despite not playing any matches since December 2024.

The FIFA rankings showed that Vietnam had accumulated a total of 1,614.43 points and sustained 37th position globally.
Compared to regional rivals, the Philippines (41st), Thailand (47th), and Myanmar (55th) were still ranked below Vietnam. Notably, the Thailand women's team lost 5.2 points after a series of poor results, including two losses to Russia and the Republic of Korea, and one draw against Uzbekistan, allowing Vietnam to widen the gap in the rankings.
Elsewhere in Asia, Vietnam finished sixth, trailing behind regional powerhouses such as Japan in first place, the Democratic People's Republic of Korea (DPRK) in second, Australia in third, China in fourth, and the Republic of Korea in fifth.
On the global scale, the US remain at the top with 2,069.06 points, followed by Spain, Germany, and England. The Japan women's team made a significant leap, climbing to 5th place after winning three consecutive matches.
The next FIFA rankings will be released on June 12.
