VOV.VN - V.League 1 champions Viettel FC secured a comfortable 1-0 victory over Kaya FC of the Philippines on July 11 in their final match at the Asian Football Confederation (AFC) Champions League 2021.
In their previous meeting in the group stage, Viettel FC had thrashed their rivals from the Philippines 5-0, meaning that the Vietnamese representatives had a lot of confidence going into the match and were keen to show their dominance from the referee’s whistle.
The first half past without incident as the V. League 1 champion struggled to find any goal scoring opportunities.
The start of the second half saw two Kaya FC footballers given red cards in the opening 10 minutes.
Caique scored the only goal of the game for Viettel FC in the 55th minute thanks to a penalty, with the score remaining 1-0 until the end of the game.
With two wins and four defeats, Viettel FC achieved six points and came in third in Group F of the AFC Champions League 2021.
