Vietnam’s U22s to play in a friendly tournament in China

VOV.VN - The national U22 squad are set to partake in the Chinese Football Association (CFA) Team China 2024 friendly tournament between September 2 and September 10 as they prepare for upcoming international tournaments.

The event will see the participation of young teams from Malaysia, Uzbekistan, Vietnam, and host nation China.

The Vietnamese side will play against hosts China on September 4 in their opening fixture. They will then face Uzbekistan and Malaysia on September 7 and September 10, respectively.

This comes after Korean head coach Kim Sang Sik announced a 35-player squad ahead of the first gathering of Vietnam’s U22 team from August 13 to August 17.

Their participation in CFA Team China 2024 friendly tournament aims to prepare for qualification games for the 2026 AFC U23 Asian Cup in September, 2025, and the 33rd Southeast Asian Games (SEA Games) in December, 2025.
