Vietnam’s U17s trounce Koln in friendly tournament

VOV.VN - The Vietnam U17 national men’s national football team recorded a resounding 2-1 victory over Koln’s U16 FC side on April 8 in a friendly match during the team’s ongoing training camp being held in Germany.

The Vietnamese team dominated the game with Huu Tuan opening the scoring in the first half.

Following this, the FC Koln players quickly equalised the score at 1-1 a few minutes later.

With the score level, the team led by head coach Hoang Anh Tuan changed their tactics and were able to create more opportunities in the second half.

These changes paid off as Huu Tuan scored to secure a win for the Vietnamese side and make it 2-1 in favour of Vietnam.

The latest win comes off the back of a 2-2 draw against Borussia Dortmund’s U16 side and a 3-1 victory over Koln International FC.

The squad made up of young local players set off to Germany on March 18. The Vietnamese team visited four clubs, including Borussia Dortmund, Eintracht Frankfurt, Koln, and Borussia Monchengladbach, during four weeks of training and played friendly matches against their youth teams.

After the completion of the training camp, four players who put in the most impressive performances will be selected by Bundesliga clubs to stay in Germany and participate in an intensive training programme moving forward.
