Vietnam’s U17s draw 2-2 with Dortmund rivals in friendly tournament

VOV.VN - The Vietnamese U17 men’s national football team held Borussia Dortmund’s U16 side to a 2-2 draw on March 22 in their first friendly match during their ongoing training camp being held in Germany.

The Vietnamese team went ahead in the first lead, going in at halftime with a two goal advantage after mistakes by the German team allowed Vietnam to score in the 19th and 33rd minutes.

In the second half Dortmund’s U16 team came out stronger and scored through a penalty in the 52nd minute before levelling the score with a header in the 78th minute.

The squad of young local players set off to Germany on March 18. The team is being led by coach Hoang Anh Tuan and will visit four clubs, including Borussia Dortmund, Eintracht Frankfurt, Koln, and Borussia Monchengladbach during four weeks of training and playing friendly matches against their youth teams.

After the completion of the training camp, four players who put in the most impressive performances will be selected by Bundesliga clubs to stay in Germany and participate in an intensive training programme moving forward.
