Vietnamese team heads to Thailand Open athletics championships

VOV.VN - Vietnam will send a team of 11 athletes to compete at the 2025 Thailand Open Track & Field Championships, set to take place from June 20 to 26.

The lineup includes rising star Le Thi Tuyet Mai, a bronze medalist at the 2024 Asian championships, who is expected to be a strong contender in the women’s 400m relay.

Also competing is Nguyen Khanh Linh, champion of the women’s 1,500m at the Asian U18 tournaments in 2022 and 2023. Another promising name is Hoang Thi Ngoc Anh, winner of the 3,000m and 1,500m events at the 2024 ASEAN Schools Games (ASG).

Huu Toan, Van Nghia, and Thanh Phat will take part in both individual and team events across various men’s and women’s categories.

The Thailand Open is expected to draw hundreds of athletes from across Asia, serving as a key warm-up event ahead of the 33rd Southeast Asian Games (SEA Games 33), which will be held in Thailand from December 9 to 20.
