Vietnamese track-and-field athletes win bronze at Asian Relay Championship

VOV.VN - Vietnamese track-and-field athletes on May 20 brought home a bronze medal in the 4x400m mixed relay at the Asian Relay Championship 2024 which is getting underway in Thailand.

The Vietnamese team made up of Nguyen Xuan Quang, Le Thi Tuyet Mai, Le Ngoc Phuc, and Quach Thi Lan came third after clocking a time of 3'18''45.

They broke their own record previously set at the Asian tournament in the Philippines in 2019 with a time of 3'19''05.

The Indian team clinched a gold medal, reaching the finish line after 3'14''12. A silver medal went to athletes of Sri Lanka as they finished with a time of 3'17''.

Vietnam sent 14 athletes to the Asian Relay Championship 2024 which will run until May 22, with high hopes that they will be able to qualify for the upcoming Paris Olympics.

According to schedule, they are competing in the 4x400m mixed relay, women’s 4x100m relay, women’s 4x400m relay, and men’s 4x400m relay.
