Vietnamese shooters set sights on medals at Asian Championship 2026

VOV.VN - Marksmen of the national shooting team are gearing up to compete for medals at the Asian Rifle/Pistol Championship 2026, scheduled for February 2–14 in India.

Among the prominent athletes is Trinh Thu Vinh who claimed four golds and set three records at the recent 33rd Southeast Asian Games (SEA Games) in Thailand.

Earlier in February shooters Trinh Thu Vinh and Pham Quang Huy brought home a gold medal in the 10m air pistol mixed team category at the 2025 Asian Rifle/Pistol Championship held in Thailand.

Vinh will continue to compete in the women's 10m and 25m air pistol.

The team will also feature notable shooters including Nguyen Thuy Trang, a gold medalist in the women’s 10m air pistol at 2023 Asian tournament, Le Thi Mong Tuyen, who previously participated in the women's 10m air rifle at the 2024 Paris Olympics, and SEA Games champion Ha Minh Thanh.

The upcoming championship will serve as a key test for the Vietnamese team as they prepare for the 2026 Asian Games in Japan, providing valuable experience and benchmarking their readiness against top competitors in the region.
