Vietnamese cyclists to compete in Asian championships

VOV.VN - The national cycling team will fly to Thailand to vie for titles at the 2025 Asian Road Cycling Championships, scheduled to take place from February 7 to 16.

The eight-member mixed team will be led by Nguyen Thi That who was the first Vietnamese cyclist to win a 2024 Paris Olympics spot after she won a gold medal at the 2023 Asian championship.

Among other outstanding cyclists are Thach Thi Ngoc Thao who brought home a gold medal at the 2023 Asian Junior Road Cycling Championships and Pham Le Xuan Loc from Military Zone 7 who was named as the best young athlete at the Ho Chi Minh City Television Cycling Tournament.

Vietnamese cyclists will compete in road races for the junior men, men's U23, women's U23, and women's categories.

The 2025 Asian Road Cycling Championships will offer competitors qualifying points towards the 2028 Los Angeles Olympics.

Cyclists from more than 30 countries and territories are expected to participate in the tournament.
