Vietnam women’s volleyball team finish 28th in year-end FIVB rankings

VOV.VN - The Vietnam women’s volleyball team ended 2025 at 28th in the world, according to the latest year-end rankings released by the International Volleyball Federation (FIVB).

Their performance at the 33rd Southeast Asian Games (SEA Games 33) has not yet been factored into the global rankings. As a result, the team’s position remains unchanged from the August standings, with a total of 136.75 points.

At SEA Games 33, Vietnam finished runners-up after losing to host nation Thailand in the final. Over the course of the tournament, the Vietnamese women played five matches, securing four victories against Malaysia, Indonesia, Myanmar and the Philippines, and suffering one defeat to Thailand.

SEA Games 33 champions Thailand are currently ranked 18th in the FIVB standings. Japan, was placed fifth globally, is the only Asian team to feature in the world’s top five.

Within Asia, Japan remain the region’s top-ranked team, followed by China and Thailand, with Vietnam fourth in the continental standings.
