Vietnam wins silver at Asian Pétanque Championships
VOV.VN -Despite their best efforts, Vietnam fell to Cambodia in the women’s triples final at the 2025 Asian Pétanque Championships on November 9, taking home the silver medal.
Vietnamese players remained focused throughout the match, seizing every opportunity to score, but Cambodia’s team executed their technical throws more effectively, clinching the victory 13-5.
As a result, Cambodia claimed gold, while Vietnam B secured silver. Vietnam A earned the bronze medal after falling to Vietnam B in the semifinals, sharing third place in the event.
Doan Tuan Anh, head of Vietnam’s pétanque delegation, said the team performed with great determination, adding that the athletes would draw valuable lessons from the tournament as they continue preparations for the 33rd SEA Games.
Earlier in the championships, Vietnam also captured two bronze medals in the men’s and women’s precision shooting events.
With these results, Vietnam now turns its focus to the 33rd SEA Games in Thailand, scheduled from December 9 to 20, aiming to contend for gold medals.
