Vietnam travel experience impresses one of the world’s top pickleball players
VOV.VN - Christian Alshon, one of the world's top pickleball player, was excited by his travel experiences and the development of pickleball during his visit to Vietnam for the PPA Asia 1000- Hanoi Cup 2026.
During his trip to Vietnam for the PPA Asia 1000 -Hanoi Cup 2026, Christian Alshon travelled from north to south and posted on social media, sharing check-ins at well-known destinations such as the Imperial Citadel of Thang Long, Tran Quoc Pagoda, Ba Vi National Park and the Cu Chi Tunnels.
Alshon was particularly excited by the widespread presence of pickleball courts across Vietnam. The top-four PPA-ranked player shared his excitement at seeing courts set up on sidewalks in Hanoi, in forest areas in Ba Vi, and the active pickleball business scene in Ho Chi Minh City.
“I saw a pickleball court at the Ba Vi National Park in Vietnam!?! I known I shouldn’t be surprised at this point because pickleball is everywhere in Vietnam,” the US player wrote on his Instagram page.
The 25-year-old US player shared in another post, “So many pickleball courts here in Vietnam, they’re even on all over the sidewalks.”
His posts attracted strong interaction, particularly from Vietnam’s pickleball community. The player, who won a silver medal in the mixed doubles event at the PPA Asia 1000- Hanoi Cup 2026, also said he was impressed with his experience exploring Vietnam before leaving the country.
“It’s awesome to see the abundance of pickleball in Vietnam! This is my last day in Vietnam, it’s been real thank you everyone for the experience and hospitality. I can’t wait to come back in the future!” Christian Alshon shared.
