Vietnam to play Thailand at Asian women’s U20 volleyball championship
VOV.VN - Vietnam will compete in Group C at the 22nd Asian women’s U20 volleyball championship alongside Thailand and Iran following the Asian Volleyball Confederation’s draw on March 12.
Group A consists of China, Kazakhstan, and Australia; while Group B features Japan, Indonesia, and Hong Kong (China).
Group D brings together the Republic of Korea, Taipei (China), and New Zealand.
All the 12 teams will compete in Jiangmen, China, from July 1 to 8.
In 2016, the Vietnamese team secured the fourth-place position in the Asian tournament.
The Asian Women's U20 Volleyball Championship has been held every two years since 1980. The top two teams qualify for the International Volleyball Federation (FIVB) Volleyball Women’s U21 World Championship. Japan are the defending champions and this is their seventh title taken in the 2022 tournament.
