Vietnam to play friendly against Cambodia ahead of 2027 Asian Cup qualifiers

The Football Federation of Cambodia confirmed the national team of Cambodia will fly to Vietnam to take on their hosts in a friendly slated for March 19.
Initially, the Vietnam national football team had planned to play a friendly against Myanmar, but due to various reasons, this match was not held. Instead, the defending ASEAN Cup 2024 champions will face Cambodia.
The match will take place during FIFA Days, allowing both teams to call up their best players. This will also be Vietnam's first match of the year.
Cambodia have shown significant improvement recently, with many naturalized players, making them an interesting opponent for Vietnam as they prepare for the Asian Cup 2027 qualifiers.
The friendly will not only help coach Kim Sang-sik test the lineup and tactics but also provide an opportunity for the players to showcase their skills and form ahead of the crucial tournament.
