Vietnam to host first ITF beach tennis tournament
VOV.VN - The country is scheduled to host the International Tennis Federation (ITF) BT50 Fleur De Lys Cup 2024 for the first time which is due to take place in Quy Nhon city from August 18 to August 21.
The event will also feature players from many countries around the world, including Japan, Thailand, the Philippines, Slovakia, and Latvia who will come together to compete in the ITF BT50 Vietravel Cup 2024 from August 22 to August 25, also in Quy Nhon city.
Players will vie for the championship title in two categories, including the men’s doubles and women’s doubles. The entry fee will be US$70 per team.
The total prize money on offer from the two tournaments is worth up to US$8,000.
The Xuan Dieu Beach, one of the most beautiful locations in the area boasting white sand and crystal-clear waters in Binh Dinh's Quy Nhon City, will be a venue of the two tournaments.
Beach tennis is a game combining tennis and volleyball and played on sand. It has been played in over 50 countries and by more than half a million people since 1970.
