The team are second in the table following a goalless draw with Thailand after a frenetic opening Group G match played out in Pathum Thani province on September 5.

Following the result, both teams secured a single point each, meaning both sides are level in second place in the group rankings.

Malaysia top the group after a 3-2 win over Indonesia at the Bung Karno stadium on September 5.

Despite the UAE having yet to play a match in the tournament, the Arab nation are still ranked fourth due to having a superior goal difference over Indonesia.

The second round of matches in Group G will take place on September 10 with Indonesia playing Thailand while Malaysia will meet the UAE.
