VOV.VN - Vietnam finished third overall at the 2025 Wushu Asian Cup in China, which concluded on July 6, bringing home two gold, eight silver, and two bronze medals.

On the final day of competition, Vietnamese martial artists claimed both gold medals in sanda (combat). Nguyen Thi Ngoc Hien triumphed in the women’s 56kg event, while Nguyen Thi Thu Thuy secured the 60kg title after defeating a strong contender from host nation China.
In taolu (performance), however, medal hopefuls Duong Thuy Vi, Dang Tran Phuong Nhi, and Nong Van Huu fell short. The team managed two silver and one bronze medal in this category, earned by Vu Van Tuan, Nguyen Thi Hien, and Do Duc Tai.
The second edition of the Asian Wushu Cup took place from July 5 to 6, featuring hundreds of athletes from across the continent. Vietnam fielded a 19-member squad.
This was the first time taolu had been included in the Asian Cup, providing athletes with valuable experience ahead of upcoming international competitions.
Vietnamese wushu athletes are now set to compete at the World Games in August and the World Wushu Championships in September.
