Needing just a draw to top the group, coach Diego Giustozzi’s squad exceeded expectations with a commanding performance from the outset. Vietnam pressed high from the first whistle, pinning Lebanon deep in their own half.

In the eighth minute, Nguyen Da Hai broke the deadlock with a precise finish to put Vietnam ahead.

Lebanon were stunned by the goal and quickly collapsed, conceding two more goals within just over a minute. Nguyen Manh Dung and Tu Minh Quang each found the net, putting Vietnam 3-0 up in less than 12 minutes.

With a comfortable lead, Vietnam slowed the pace, focusing on ball control and minimising risks. Lebanon struggled to mount any serious attacks and hesitated to use a power-play strategy.

In the second half, the Vietnamese team maintained to put pressure on the rivals and Vu Ngoc Anh put his name on the scoresheet in the 25th minute.

In the closing minutes, Lebanon resorted to a power-play in a desperate attempt to score and improve their goal difference, but Vietnam’s solid defence denied them even a consolation goal.

With this result, Vietnam completed the group stage with a perfect record of three wins, scoring 20 goals and conceding only three. They topped Group E with 9 points and won a ticket to the 2026 AFC Futsal Asian Cup finals.

The Asian Cup qualifying round draws the participation of 31 teams divided into 8 groups which compete in one-round robin format.

The 8 group winners and seven best second-placed teams will qualify for the 2026 AFC Futsal Asian Cup finals slated for May 14-31 in Indonesia next year.
