Vietnam jump one spot in FIFA rankings

VOV.VN - The Vietnamese national men’s football team have climbed one spot to 110th in the latest FIFA world rankings, according to the world’s football governing body.

According to the latest rankings released on November 19, Vietnam now rank 20th in Asia and 2nd in Southeast Asia behind Thailand.

Interestingly, the team’s rise came despite not earning points for their 2-0 win over Laos in the 2027 Asian Cup qualifiers. The points from that victory will be reflected in the next FIFA rankings update.

Vietnam’s move-up was due to other teams, including Kenya and Tanzania, dropping in the global standings.

The top five teams in Asia are Japan (18th globally), Iran (20th), the Republic of Korea, (22nd), Australia (26th) and Uzbekistan (50th). Spain still lead the world, followed by Argentina and France.
