Vietnam finishes second at 2025 Asian Kurash Championships

VOV.VN - Vietnamese Kurash athletes brought home 3 gold, 2 silver and 3 bronze medals, securing an impressive second finish at the 2025 Asian Kurash Championships, which concluded in the Republic of Korea on August 4.

Of the total, Vietnam took two gold and one silver medals in the junior division, along with one gold, one silver, and three bronze medals in the senior division.

Notably, Tran Thi Thanh Thuy won the only gold medal in the senior division after recording a convincing victory in the women's 87kg weight final.

On the final competition day, Nguyen Thi Bich Ngoc lost to opponent Fotima Kodirova of Uzbekistan in the women’s 57kg, receiving a silver.

Two more bronze medals went to Nguyen Thi Ngoc Nhung and To Thi Trang in the women’s 63kg and 48kg, respectively.

With a total of 45 gold, five silver, and three bronze medals, Uzbekistan topped the overall rankings, followed by Vietnam, India, Tajikistan, and the Republic of Korea.
