Vietnam enter Asian Senior Women's Volleyball Championship semi-finals

VOV.VN - Vietnam stunned Australia 3-0 at the 2023 Asian Senior Women’s Volleyball Championship in Thailand on September 3, progressing onto the semi-finals.

Coach Nguyen Tuan Kiet sent in his best hopefuls, including Tran Thi Thanh Thuy, Bich Thuy, Kieu Trinh, Nguyen Thi Trinh, Lam Oanh, Tu Linh, and Khanh Dang, hoping to dominate the game.

Vietnamese players got off to a good start, with middle blocker Kieu Trinh proving to be the best player in the first set. Her professional spikes and blocks helped Vietnam go ahead with a 25-15 win.

The second set saw coach Tuan Kiet use some substitutes who still took control of the game, sealing the same score.

In the last set, Australian players made a great effort in an attempt to reverse the score, but they accepted the 21-25 defeat in the end.

With the 3-0 win overall, Vietnam cruised to the semi-finals, and it is their best results they have recorded at the Asian [P1] championship.

Vietnam are scheduled to take on hosts Thailand that have also entered the semi-finals after defeating Australia 3-0. The game is due to take place on September 4.

Vietnam will likely play either China or Japan in the first semi-final game.
