Vietnam crush Malaysia 4-0 to qualify for 2026 AFC U17 Asian Cup

VOV.VN - U17 Vietnam delivered a dominant performance, convincingly defeating U17 Malaysia 4-0 at the PVF Training Center in northern Hung Yen province on November 30 to secure their place in the 2026 AFC U17 Asian Cup.

From the opening moments, U17 Malaysia showed their determination to win with a central attack. However, in a promising chance in the 2nd minute, the Malaysian player shot over the crossbar in a one-on-one situation against goalkeeper Ly Xuan Hoa.

Just two minutes later, U17 Vietnam displayed composure and sharpness with the opening goal. Chu Ngoc Nguyen Luc floated the ball from midfield on the left flank, allowing Manh Cuong to run in and slot the ball past U17 Malaysia’s goalkeeper Khaufly.

Buoyed by the lead, U17 Vietnam played with fluidity and came close to doubling the advantage in the 17th minute. Van Duong’s powerful shot forced Khaufly into a difficult save. Shortly after, Sy Bach skillfully dribbled into the box and took a precise shot, but it struck the post.

In the remainder of the first half, U17 Vietnam maintained control, attacking creatively and scoring the second goal in the 43rd minute. With a well-developed buildup, Nguyen Luc’s delicate pass allowed Van Duong to break through on the left flank, crossing accurately for Anh Hao, who calmly tapped the ball into the empty net.

In the second half, U17 Vietnam continued to dominate and extended their lead. In the 50th minute, during a scramble in the Malaysian penalty area, Van Duong completed a composed left-footed finish after three touches, making it 3-0.

Vietnam’s momentum only grew, and in the 77th minute, Sy Bach powered through the defence and struck a strong shot past Khaufly to score the fourth goal, demonstrating confidence and high efficiency.

The match ended 4-0 in favor of U17 Vietnam. Under coach Cristiano Roland, the team completed the qualifying round with five wins, scoring 30 goals and conceding none, securing their spot at the 2026 AFC U17 Asian Cup in emphatic fashion.
