Vietnam clinches two bronzes at FIDE World Cadet Championship 2024

VOV.VN - The Vietnamese youth chess team brought home two bronze medals at the FIDE World Cadet Championship 2024, which ended in Italy on November 26.

In the girls U12 category, Tong Thai Hoang An finished 11 rounds with 8.5 points, securing third place.

The other bronze medal went to Nguyen Quang Anh who earned a total of 8.5 points after 11 rounds, ranking third in the boys U10 category.

Nguyen Vu Bao Chau, who is a Vietnamese hopeful, only finished in seventh position with 7.5 points after 11 rounds in the girls U8 category.

The Nov. 14 - 26 championship gathered together more than 700 young players from 82 different countries and territories competing in age groups ranging from U8 to U12. It featured three categories of rapid chess, blitz chess, and standard chess for both genders.

Vietnam entered 13 contenders covering all age groups and categories.
