VFF nominated for AFC Member Association of the Year Award

VOV.VN - The Vietnam Football Federation (VFF) has been nominated as one of three finalists for the Asian Football Confederation (AFC) Member Association of the Year (Diamond) Award at the AFC Awards Riyadh 2025, recognizing its outstanding contributions to the development of football across Asia.

The AFC Awards is a prestigious event organised by the Asian Football Confederation to honour individuals and organizations that have made significant contributions to football throughout the continent.

The Diamond category specifically celebrates federations with strong organisational management, professional competitions, youth development programs, and community engagement, particularly those that have effectively implemented AFC and FIFA initiatives.

On the official nomination list, VFF is joined by the Chinese Football Association (CFA) and the Football Association of Thailand (FAT) as the three finalists vying for the title.

2025 has been a remarkable year for VFF, as it successfully hosted national tournaments across various levels, including youth, professional, futsal, and women’s football. The federation also executed key international cooperation projects and rolled out football development programs for coaches, referees, and schools.

Vietnam’s national teams have achieved notable performances in regional and continental competitions, further boosting the country’s reputation within the AFC.

VFF has also expanded its influence through social responsibility initiatives aligned with AFC’s priorities, focusing on gender equality, life skills education, and community development through football.

This nomination underscores the success of Vietnam’s football development strategy, enhancing the VFF’s stature and influence within the Asian football community.

The AFC Awards Riyadh 2025 ceremony is scheduled for the evening of October 16, at the King Fahd Cultural Center in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, starting at 8:00 p.m. local time.
