U23 Volleyball Championship pits Vietnam against Kazakhstan

VOV.VN -The Vietnamese women’s volleyball team are set to play Kazakhstan in the quarterfinals of the ongoing Asian Women's U23 Volleyball Championship, known as the Dong Luc Cup, which is being held in Hanoi.

After enjoying a victory over Taiwan (China), the Vietnamese team avoided the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea (DPRK) and Thailand, the two strongest teams remaining in the competition. The Vietnamese women’s team are expected to enjoy an easy win with their opponents from Kazakhstan being considered the weakest team remaining in the tournament. The quarterfinal clash is set to take place in Hanoi on July 19.

During the second qualifying round on July 18, Vietnam suffered a 3-1 defeat to China, finishing second in their group as a result.
