U17 women’s team head to Germany for two-week training camp
VOV.VN - The coaching staff of the Vietnam U17 women’s national team has finalised a 23-player squad set to depart for a two-week training camp at Borussia Dortmund and Werder Bremen, Germany.

The camp, which begins on September 9, is part of a broader cooperation programme between the Vietnam Football Federation (VFF) and the Deutscher Fußball-Bund (DFL).
The training camp will provide young local players with a valuable opportunity to gain experience, learn, and develop their skills in one of Europe’s most advanced football environments.
The team will learn from world-class German football through training and friendly matches, experience new cultures and climates to foster adaptability, and more importantly prepare for long overseas tours, including time zone management and professional discipline, said head coach Okiyama Masahiko.
He emphasised that this experience is especially valuable for young athletes, as it provides practical exposure to elite-level football. The coach also noted the importance of cultural exchange, team bonding, and broadening horizons by connecting with peers from diverse football backgrounds.
The training camp is a major initiative under the “Bundesliga Dream” project, which forms part of the renewed Memorandum of Understanding (MoU)signed between the VFF and the DFL in February 2025, extending their partnership through to 2028.
Under the MoU, Bundesliga clubs provide the VFF with access to cutting-edge expertise in coaching, sports science, and medical care. The partnership also supports youth and women’s football development, including the exchange of coaches and medical professionals.
