Trinh Thu Vinh holds world No. 28 in women’s 10m air pistol
VOV.VN - Vietnamese shooter Trinh Thu Vinh remains ranked 28th in the world in the women’s 10m air pistol event, scoring 1,014 points, according to the latest world rankings released by the International Shooting Sport Federation (ISSF).
Despite not winning an individual medal at the 2026 Asian Rifle/Pistol Championships in India, Thu Vinh continues to be among Vietnam’s leading competitors in the discipline.
China’s Yao Qianxun currently tops the global rankings in the women’s 10m air pistol. India’s Singh Esha, who defeated Thu Vinh to win gold at the Asian Championships, is ranked ninth.
Another Vietnamese shooter, Nguyen Thuy Trang, is placed 101st in the same event.
In the women’s 25m pistol, Thu Vinh is ranked 19th worldwide. The top spot in that category is held by Yang Jiin of the Republic of Korea.
Although Thu Vinh did not reach the podium in the 25m pistol in India, Thuy Trang clinched the gold medal in the event and now stands 89th in the world rankings. India’s Bhaker Manu, her opponent in the final, is ranked sixth globally.
Shooters of the Vietnamese team are now focusing on preparations for the 20th Asian Games (ASIAD 20), scheduled for September 2026 in Japan, one of its key targets on the international calendar. The continental event is expected to provide shooters such as Trinh Thu Vinh with another opportunity to compete for medals and further improve their world standings.
