Tokyo 2020 Olympics update: Kim Tuyen cruises into quarter-finals

VOV.VN - Vietnamese Taekwondo artist Truong Thi Kim Tuyen on July 24 convincingly outplayed a Canadian opponent to cruise into the quarter-finals of the ongoing Tokyo 2020 Olympics in Japan.

Asian defending champion Kim Tuyen defeated Yvette Yong of Canada after three sets in the 49kg weight category.

Vietnam’s No1 badminton player Nguyen Thuy Linh (49th in world rankings) made her impressive debut in Tokyo after outperforming Qi Xuefei of France (41st in world rankings) in two sets.

Linh is due to face the world’s No1 Tai Tzu-ying of Taiwan on July 26.

On July 24, duo Luong Thi Bao/Dinh Thi Hao are scheduled to compete in rowing

Veteran marksman Hoang Xuan Vinh will compete in the men’s 10m air pistol category.

Gymnasts Le Thanh Tung and Dinh Phuong Thanh will compete in the men’s individual.

Boxer Nguyen Van Duong will take on Tayfur of Azerbaijan in the men’s 57kg weight category.
