Thuy Trang breaks into world top 80 in women’s 25m sport pistol
VOV.VN - Shooter Nguyen Thuy Trang has climbed into the world’s top 80 in the women’s 25m sport pistol in the latest rankings released by the International Shooting Sport Federation (ISSF).
According to the rankings announced in early March 2026, Nguyen Thuy Trang moved up to 78th place in the world in the women’s 25m sport pistol event.
Her rise follows a strong performance at the 2026 Asian Rifle and Pistol Championships held in India in mid-February, where she won the gold medal in the women’s 25m sport pistol individual event. The result helped her gain ranking points and improve her position in the ISSF standings.
Another Vietnamese shooter, Trinh Thu Vinh, remains 19th in the world in the same event. South Korea’s Yang Jiin continues to hold the world No.1 position in the women’s 25m sport pistol.
In the women’s 10m air pistol, Trinh Thu Vinh is ranked 24th, while Nguyen Thuy Trang stands 101st in the world. Neither shooter won an individual medal in this event at the Asian championships, though the Vietnamese team secured a silver medal in the team event.
Meanwhile, Le Thi Mong Tuyen is ranked 102nd in the women’s 10m air rifle in the latest ISSF rankings. The Ho Chi Minh City shooter also competed at the 2026 Asian championships and gained additional results from the tournament.
