VOV.VN - Four Vietnamese athletes on June 8 made a remarkable performance at Taiwan Athletics Open 2025, bringing home a silver medal in the men’s 4x400m relay.

The relay team consisting of Nguyen Xuan Quang, Vu Ngoc Khanh, Tran Nhat Hoang, and Tran Dinh Son, delivered an outstanding race in the final, finishing second with a time of 3 minutes 6.20 seconds (3:06.20).
This result earned them the silver medal and notably broke the national record of 3 minutes 7.40 seconds (3:07.40), which was previously set by the Vietnamese men’s relay team at the 2017 SEA Games in Malaysia, where the team also won silver.
The gold medal in this event went to the Indian relay team, who finished with a time of 3 minutes 5.58 seconds (3:05.58).
“We prepared a detailed strategy to ensure each athlete ran within the targeted time and the baton exchanges were efficient. Breaking the national record at this competition is a clear recognition of the efforts and determination of each athlete in the team,” said coach Dang Van Thanh.
Besides the men’s 4x400m relay team’s achievement, other Vietnamese athletes also showed commendable efforts on June 8. Doan Thu Hang finished fourth in the women’s 5,000m final, while Nguyen Tien Trong came sixth in the men’s long jump.
