Silver for Vietnam in women’s 4x400m relay at Asian athletics championships
VOV.VN - Vietnamese runners Nguyen Thi Hang, Quach Thi Lan, and Hoang Thi Minh Hanh secured a silver medal in the women’s 4x400m relay at the 2024 Asian Athletics Championships in the Republic of Korea on May 29, finishing with a time of 3:34.77.

The team failed to defend the title they won two years ago, with a time of 3:32.36.
This year’s relay featured seven national squads, including India, Sri Lanka, Kazakhstan, the Republic of Korea, Hong Kong (China), Uzbekistan, and Vietnam. India claimed gold with a time of 3:34.18, while Sri Lanka finished third in 3:36.67.
Earlier in the tournament, Tran Thi Nhi Yen earned a bronze medal in the women’s 100m sprint. Other Vietnamese athletes competing were Nguyen Trung Cuong, finishing fifth in the men’s 3,000m steeplechase; My Tien, seventh in the women’s 100m hurdles; and Tran Thi Loan, who placed 10th in the women’s long jump.
Earlier in the tournament, Tran Thi Nhi Yen earned a bronze medal in the women’s 100m sprint. Other Vietnamese athletes were unable to reach the podium: Nguyen Trung Cuong placed fifth in the men’s 3,000m steeplechase, My Tien came seventh in the women’s 100m hurdles, and Tran Thi Loan finished 10th in the women’s long jump.
The championships, taking place from May 27 to 31, draw more than 2,000 athletes from 43 countries and territories. Vietnam is fielding a 20-member squad across various track and field events.
Vietnam has sent 20 athletes to vie for medals in different categories.
