The Vietnamese trio of Ha Minh Thanh, Phan Cong Minh and Pham Quang Huy totalled 1,672 points to secure second place in the event on February 13. Hosts India topped the standings with 1,743 points.

In the individual competition, none of the Vietnamese shooters reached the podium. Ha Minh Thanh recorded the team’s best result, placing fifth in the final with 564 points, while Pham Quang Huy finished sixth with 561 points and Phan Cong Minh eighth with 546. Vietnam fielded 14 shooters across pistol and rifle disciplines during the 10-day championship. The team’s only gold medal came from Nguyen Thuy Trang in the women’s 25m pistol event.

Vietnam also collected three silver medals in the women’s 10m air pistol, the men’s 25m standard pistol team and the men’s 25m centrefire pistol team events, along with three bronze medals in the women’s 25m pistol team, the men’s 50m pistol team and the men’s 25m rapid fire pistol team events.

Another bronze for Vietnam at Asian Rifle/Pistol Championship
